Menopause is an unfortunate reality for all women as they get older and with it comes many painful and irritating symptoms. The purpose of this article is to give you some information on a variety of herbal and non-herbal treatments available that may be of help to you dealing with any symptoms you may feel. These include:
• Phytoestrogens- Phytoestrogens are compounds that come from plants. These compounds are often used as a treatment for menopause because they have a similar genetic make up to the naturally occurring female hormone estrogen.
• Wild Yam Creams- Whilst there is little medicinal evidence supporting the use of wild yam creams as a treatment for menopause is inconclusive, wild yam creams are still a highly popular over the counter remedy. Diosgenin is a compound in wild yams that can be synthesized in to progesterone, however the human body does not have the enzyme capable of this synthesis.
• Herbal Medicines- Herbal remedies are also wildly popular in treating menopausal women. They may not be useful in treating menopause per se, but a naturopath or herbalist can prescribe herbal treatments to help alleviate symptoms associated with menopause.
• Progesterone Treatments- Progesterone is a naturally occurring female sex hormone. It declines during menopause and some studies suggest that many menopausal symptoms are a direct result of an incorrect ratio between progesterone and estrogen levels. Progesterone remedies are normally taken in the form of a cream. Progesterone treatments can often be taken with other hormone treatments.
Menopause can be a painful and irritating time for women but there are a variety of treatments you can consider that may help alleviate your suffering. I have listed four popular treatments above and you may want to consider trying one or all of them to see which of these treatments work best for you.

Your wedding day is going to be one of the most important days of your life. It’s the most important day or your life, when all eyes are on you. It is only right therefore, that you will want to look your very best on the day when all eyes are going to be on YOU. Obviously you will want to ensure that your dress, your hair and your make up are absolutely tip top. But what if you have a few pounds to lose to make sure that the dress fits you perfectly and that your shape is exactly as you want it? What you need is a bridal diet.
There is no end of diet plans and courses out there and some of them can be effective but if you only have a window of a month or two then you’re going to need a targeted plan that is simple to stick to and that will deliver consistent results, right up to your wedding day.
You want a bridal diet that you can ahdere to without being distracted by redundant information. You’ll have enough on your mind in the coming weeks, without needing to think about food and dieting too much.
It isn’t your fault either – in the weeks up to your wedding there is bound to be a number of parties, hen nights and other celebrations and it is easy to take your eye off the ball and a few pounds can easily go on without your even noticing.
So, in order to lose weight for your wedding, your bridal diet needs to be clear, easy to follow and easy to incorporate into your normal routine during what is likely to be a stressful time for you.
Let’s think about the big problem with losing weight. Why do we find it so difficult to do, even when we have a very important reason to want to do it?
Well, we need to understand that our bodies were designed to operate in environment where food was nowhere near as plentiful as it is today. So, our alimentary canal is designed to draw as much energy as it can out of every meal. Also, we prefer high calorie foods because these are the foods that will give us the best chance of survival in a world of low food availablity. And that’s why we prefer a cream cake to a bowl of bran.
To work properly, your bridal diet must help you to overcome our natural tendencies and assist you in reducing calorie intake without stressing us out in the lead up to your wedding.
Knowledege is power, or so they say, and if we have the knowledege of how our body handles the food we eat, then we have the power to deal with our weight problem.
There are hundreds of diet plans and clubs available some of which might be appropriate for a bridal diet and some of which might help you lose weight for your wedding but for unrivalled success in this most special of Weight Loss scenarios, you need a plan that deal with your bridal diet explicitly.
If you’re looking for a highly targeted plan that will help you shed 10 pounds in just 14 days, then you can’t do better than Strip That Fat - it’s specifically designed to deal with short-term dieting targets and it worked wonders for my two daughters when they decided to lose a few pounds for their wedding (they had a double wedding and I can’t tell you how proud it made me to see them looking so slim and beautiful on their special day).
